AFTER HOURS COVERAGE
Hometown Health Center provides 24-hour, 7 day/week “on-call” provider coverage. A patient at HHC who may need to reach a provider after hours will automatically be connected with the Ellis Medicine answering exchange.
At anytime after regularly scheduled business hours, a patient will simply have to call 370-1441, the main telephone number at the Center, and they will be connected to an operator at the Ellis Hospital Exchange.
The attendant will retrieve the needed information from the patient and then contact the provider “on-call”. The “on-call” provider will then call the patient in a timely manner and address the issue with them over the phone.
RESPECT FOR THE PATIENT
Hometown Health Center believes that all of its patients should feel welcome and
comfortable when they visit the Center for healthcare or dental services. We recognize
that being a patient can bring with it anxiety. For many it is a new experience and
one that no one would choose unless it was absolutely necessary.
At HHC, it is our aim to give our patients and their relatives and friends as much information as possible so everyone understands exactly what to expect. It is perfectly normal for a patient to ask many questions and we are always happy to answer them. We want all of our patients to feel welcome and care for them in privacy and with respect and courtesy. We try to make everyone’s visit as pleasant as possible.
A “Patient Bill of Rights” is posted in all patient waiting areas and clinical settings.
Patient care policies and procedures dealing with treatment or referrals are designed
to serve the best interest of the health center patient.

Thanks to ongoing support from Beechnut, Hometown Health is able to offer free baby food to all patients who have an appointment with their child aged 6-18 months. We want to thank Beechnut for their generous donations of quality baby food, which have helped hundreds of families since the program started in August 2011. Click here to view the article that was published in the Schenectady Daily Gazette announcing this important initiative.

Champagne Dinner Fundraiser 2012
The Hometown Health Dinner Fundraiser went off without a hitch this year, and was a great success! Thank you to all who sponsored, participated in, and/or donated to the event. Thanks also to the Niskayuna and Scotia Rotary Clubs (specifically Sandy Nolin and Rita Badami) for the many hours of time they put in to organize everything. Click here for pictures and a list of our sponsors. Hope to see everyone again next year!

HealthFest 2012
Hometown Health Center’s annual HealthFest took place this year on Friday, August 10 despite the best efforts of Mother Nature to put a damper on things. As always, the event was a great success with free food, 40 community organizations, health screenings, and more. Click here for more information.
